Privacy Policy

norirang (the “Service”) values your personal information and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and other relevant laws. This policy explains what information the Service handles and how. norirang is a music playback app with no sign-up or login, and it minimizes the personal information it collects.

1. Information We Collect and How

Voice (microphone)The voice input captured by the microphone when you use “Search by voice.” The voice is converted into text (a search query) by the speech recognition feature of your device’s operating system (Apple/Google), and norirang does not store the original audio on its servers.
My Artists · Playlists · Country settingsFavorite artists, playlists, settings, and the like that you register are stored only on your device (local storage) and are not transmitted to or collected by norirang’s servers.
Service usage informationTo process requests such as genre, artist, and search, the content of those requests (e.g., search terms) and general access information (IP, access time, device and app version, etc.) may be temporarily recorded in server logs.
Advertising identifiersThis Service is provided free of charge and includes advertising (Google AdMob). To serve ads, Google AdMob may collect and use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID), approximate location, device and ad-interaction information, and the like. By default, this app is configured to serve non-personalized ads.

2. Purpose of Use

  • Providing core Service features such as voice search and finding and playing songs
  • Operating the Service, improving quality, and analyzing errors
  • Preventing abuse and providing a stable Service
  • Displaying ads (Google AdMob) in order to provide the Service free of charge

3. Provision to Third Parties and Processing Entrustment

norirang does not sell your personal information. The following external services are involved in order to provide functionality.

YouTube / GoogleThis Service uses YouTube API Services. All videos are played through the official YouTube IFrame player, and Google’s and YouTube’s privacy policies apply to playback and data processing. (Google Privacy Policy,YouTube Terms of Service)
Apple / Google (speech recognition)When you use “Search by voice,” the speech recognition feature of your device’s operating system converts speech to text. This process follows the policies of each operating system provider.
Google AdMob (advertising)Google AdMob is used to display ads within the app. Google’s advertising policies apply to AdMob’s data processing. (Google Advertising Policies)

4. Retention and Destruction

  • Information stored on your device (My Artists, playlists, etc.) is deleted together when you delete the app.
  • Server access and usage logs are retained for a certain period for operational and security purposes, then destroyed.

5. Your Rights

  • You can delete My Artists and playlists directly within the app, or remove the app to delete all data on your device.
  • You can withdraw microphone and speech recognition permissions at any time in your device settings (voice search will be limited once withdrawn).
  • You can limit personalized ads in your device settings (iOS: Allow Tracking / Limit Ad Tracking; Android: reset/delete advertising ID).

6. Children’s Personal Information

norirang is not directed at children under the age of 14 and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.

7. Security Measures

Server secrets are kept only on the server side, and reasonable protective measures such as encryption in transit are applied.
